South African Police Service (SAPS) Recruitment Update
517,000 applications have been submitted to 1,146 police stations around the nation as of this writing.
Candidates who fulfill the minimum requirements for recruitment are currently put through rigorous screening processes to determine whether they are qualified to serve as men and women in blue.
Of the applicants, 63,000 have previously undergone psychometric testing, which measures characteristics like IQ, aptitude, and personality.
Those who meet the requirements of the SAPS will also go through physical fitness tests and a final medical examination.
For the SAPS to continue carrying out its mission, it is essential to find and hire the top candidates to work as police officers. This hiring process tries to prevent bias, nepotism, and discrimination by ensuring that only eligible candidates are selected on the basis of merit.
In order to ensure transparency, the recruitment process is monitored by a board made up of SAPS top management as well as outside stakeholders, including community members.
South African Police Service Application Form 2023
The South African Police Service will send candidates who completed their psychometric testing exams an automated short message service (SMS) directing them to their recruitment office.
These applicants are asked to speak with their neighborhood police station about the location of the closest recruitment office. We appeal for patience during this period from those who have applied and are awaiting a response.
If applicants do not hear anything official from the Service within three months after the closing date, they can assume their application has been denied.

Candidates who successfully complete and pass all three assessments for the SAPS will be notified verbally and in writing.
Additionally, it is encouraged that applicants inquire at their neighborhood police station for details on the application process.
We are encouraged by the significant number of applications we got that show young people want to help fight crime. South African youth are ready to help and defend the populace. However, we will only select candidates based on merit after they have successfully completed all assessment steps.
